Our Classroom Environment

Nursery School Gathering Area
Our programs focus on the development of social skills and school readiness.  Children learn to take turns when others are speaking, to respect their classmates and to take pride in their environment.  The children are offered the opportunity to use patterns and counting through calendar and movement activities through songs and dancing.

Library Area
Our program offers a print rich environment where children can learn to recognize words in their world.  We have a variety of books, puzzles, and board games for the children to choose from during free choice time.  The children are also offered a variety of sitting spaces to use for a quiet area to work together or have time for independent work.

Dramatic Play
Children are given the opportunity to explore their imagination and creativity through dramatic play.  We offer a workbench, house and kitchen area as well as a cash register, dress-up clothing and much more.  Items are rotated into the dramatic play area throughout the year to enhance the space while following with the classroom curriculum.

Art and Sensory Areas
Children are given the opportunity to use the art and sensory areas of our classroom during our free choice time as well as during our directed activity time.  We offer many different textures to explore based on the themes we are working on for sensory exploration.  We rotate paint, chalk, crayons, bingo dobbers and other art items at our easel for children to create with!
